Pilot Phase: November 2023 – July 2024
The pilot phase of Bunna School is set to run from November 2023 until July 2024 and will feature three meticulously designed courses:
- The Ethiopian Coffee System: Delving into the intricacies of Ethiopia’s coffee industry, this course offers a comprehensive overview of the nation’s coffee production and supply chain. The course is designed for self-paced learning, with English as the medium of instruction. Learners will determine their own pace, with a minimum engagement of 24 hours. However, the course encourages further exploration of subjects for additional learning and adaptation to one’s business and career development strategies.
- Coffee Sensory Analysis: Equipping participants with the skills to evaluate coffee quality through sensory analysis, this 7-day course is essential for anyone looking to excel in coffee tasting and grading. There are endless flavor notes to coffee, which can be observed through a technique called coffee cupping. This course introduces learners to the fine art of coffee tasting and is held in a blended learning scenario, with content presented online and in face-to-face (f2f) events. The blended learning format alternates between online and f2f units.
- Export Planning: Providing vital knowledge on the logistics and regulatory aspects of coffee export, this course is designed to help entrepreneurs and SMEs navigate the complexities of international trade. This self-study course allows learners to view and work through the content at their own pace. Learners will be responsible for scheduling themself to complete the course within the designated time frame.
