wb_faq – A Smarter Way to Manage FAQs in Moodle

Introducing the Flexible wb_faq Plugin for Moodle

We’re excited to present our latest plugin: wb_faq, a powerful and user-friendly tool for managing frequently asked questions (FAQs) in Moodle. It was developed by Wunderbyte, and it makes it easier than ever to organize, display, and maintain FAQs, while it also blends seamlessly into your Moodle environment. Just as with the wb_news plugin, wb_faq includes a user-friendly FAQ manager that is accessible via /local/wb_faq, so you can manage individual FAQs and FAQ categories with ease.

Clear Structure and Intuitive FAQ Management

With wb_faq, you can easily create categories and assign questions to them directly, and the built-in FAQ manager gives you full control, allowing you to add, edit, or delete categories while also adjusting their visibility with just a few clicks. For even better organization, you can create subcategories, which helps structure your FAQs in a clear and logical way.

Flexible Integration with Shortcodes

One of the standout features of wb_faq is its support for shortcodes, which makes it possible to place FAQs exactly where they’re needed — whether on course pages, the site homepage, or within other Moodle content areas. You can also choose to display the entire FAQ collection or only specific categories, depending on your needs.

Fast and Effective Search

o help users find answers quickly, wb_faq includes a built-in search function. Whether the keyword appears in a question or an answer, the system shows the most relevant results. This saves your users time and reduces repeated inquiries.

Full Control and Seamless Experience

Whether you want FAQs to be visible to specific user groups or to the entire platform, wb_faq gives you complete flexibility, and any updates made in the central FAQ manager are automatically reflected wherever the shortcode is used, which ensures consistency across your site.

You can try out the plugin in action in our Moodle showroom. Here the “Booking Module” category (including subcategories) is embedded via shortcode, and all updates are instantly synchronized.

Conclusion: With its intuitive structure, flexible integration, and powerful search capabilities, wb_faq is the ideal solution for managing FAQs in Moodle, because it makes information easier to find and keeps your platform more user-friendly.
